I've been in the car business since 1979, 22 of those years at Automotive Search Inc. Born in Michigan, High School & College in Ohio, this Buckeye has been in Denver Colorado for over 35 years. I really enjoy helping clients find the right vehicle for their needs. I've made so many great friends over the years while working in the automotive sales industry, which is really great. I believe we offer a great friendly environment to purchase a vehicle in.
Interests

I'm a Denver Colorado native. I attended George Washington High School and Western State College. My automotive career began in 1973 at George Irvin Chevrolet. Before coming to Automotive Search I was with Murray Motors for 16 years. I believe in the Golden Rule, and that buying a car should be a fun experience.

I've had a true passion for cars my entire life. I grew up in Duluth Minnesota, where my first job as a young teen was working in a Chevrolet Dealership. I also worked part time in a clothing store, which shaped my early career choices.
After receiving degrees in Communication and Business from the University of Minnesota, I pursued all facets of the clothing business, including owning a clothing store, repping, designing and merchandising. In my early 50's I decided to switch careers to pursue my true passion,cars. After wholesaling cars independently for a short time, I decided to join Automotive Search in 2000 as a buyer and wholesaler. Now as a partner in Automotive Search Inc, I handle inventory control and management responsibilites as well as being an auto broker. I live in Greenwood Village with my wife Ann, a Kansas Jayhawk fanatic! I have two sons named Kyle and Nick who are currently attending college in Colorado. We have two west highland terriers, named Ozzy and Rhody, that keep our house in constant motion.
Interests
Besides cars, my interests include fitness and reading. Wilbur Smith and Nelson De Mille are my favorite authors.

I'm a Denver Colorado native who attended South High School and Metro State College. I grew up in the Washington Park neighborhood which was a lot of fun. I played football, baseball & lacrosse in my younger years. I'm also a big fan of our Colorado Professional Sports Teams as well and we try to attend as many games and events as possible. I've been married to a wonderful lady for 20 years and we have two beautiful teenage daughters. I have over 16 years in the automotive sales industry where I started my career at a local Honda & BMW dealership and ran the used car department for much of my time there.
At Automotive Search, I believe that we offer a business model, which truly allows the customer to purchase a vehicle that best suits their needs and budget, whatever that may be. Selling a huge variety of products-which includes cars, trucks and van's-is not only exciting, but fun. I'm proud of the fact that we have on average a 70%-77% repeat and referral client base. Meaning we take great care of our clients and their vehicle needs! I feel fortunate to have developed so many great contacts and good friends in this business over the years.

Spoiling my two dogs, playing golf, playing poker, home improvement projects, building just about anything. I enjoy a vast array of music/concerts from Jazz to Classic Rock-n-Roll. I founded Automotive Search Inc in 1986. I thought that the auto buying process could be greatly simplified and made much more time efficent, and so I decided to open Automotive Search Inc. This was the first auto broker business in the Denver area in 1986. 26 years later we are still going strong and have a fantastic client base, which many have become great friends as well as clients. Barbara and I have been happily married for over 40 years. We have two daughters and two granddaughters at this point, which is truly fun.

I've spent most of my career in the financial services sector working for Invesco and spent 2 of my 14 years working in the UK. After moving back to the states, I decided I needed a career change and was fortunate enough to be offered a postion at Automotive Search, Inc. I never imagined myself selling cars and after five years being an autobroker, I've found my passion. Since we don't just represent one manufacturer, I can help my clients find new or late model pre-owned vehicles, with the least amount of time and at the right price. Upon graduating college and not sure of a definite career path I decided to sell cars while looking around for an opportunity and soon realized that the retail automobile business was a good fit for me. I've spent the past thirty years in the automobile business in various capacties, and have greatly enjoyed meeting many co-wokers, and clients over the years. The automobile business has recently been through some difficult and challenging times but several things have not changed, people are still in need of their main mode of transportation. I enjoy helping car buyers as they navigate through the changing and often confusing process of finding the right vehicle for their needs. My background includes national recognition for top sales and customer satisfaction ratings. A background in retail automotive management gives me the skills to handle all aspects of any automotive transaction from start to finish. As a regional manager for a leading provider of technology to dealerships and manufactures gave me opportunies to work with seventeen different automotive brands. Working as an auto broker at Automotive Search Inc. I can draw on many various experiences to make the car buying process easy, transparent and most of all fun! Someday I hope to write a book and share some great stories, experiences and many lessons learned from this unique business. I started in the banking and lending industry in 1973. After being on the lending side of things at various banks, I realized that finding the right car at the right price for my clients would be very rewarding and fun. I became an autobroker in 2006, and have really enjoyed matching up vehicles to my clients needs and wants.
Ann and I have been married for 34 years and are very proud of our two daughters. One is an Oklahoma State alum and the other a University of Oregon senior. I'm a past session member at Grace Presbyterian Church and recent President of the Sertoma Club of Littleton.

My professional life has been spent mostly around cars, I've spent over 19+ years in the automobile business. I came to Automotive Search Inc in July of 2011 after 35 years in the car business as the Fleet, Lease and Brokerage Manager for Landmark Lincoln on south Broadway. Formerly Kumpf Lincoln-Mercury, which was founded in 1919, Landmark merged with Kumpf in December of 2004. I started with Kumpf in August of 1976, becoming Vice President and General Manager of it's sister independent leasing company (Kumfco Auto Lease) in 1994 and held that position until the merger. I have always enjoyed helping my clients find the right exceptional vehicle for their needs and at the right price for their budget.
I'm a Denver native who attended George Washington High School. I graduated from Colorado University in 1975 with a B.S. Degree in business and marketing. I earned All-Big honors in golf as a freshman, was captain of the team in 1975, and earned Academic All-American honors in 1972-1975.
I'm a past president of Strategic Connections Inc., a past president of the Diamond Hill Optimist Club, past 12-time Club Champion and former Director of the Vally Country Club.
My wife Ellen, who is the Labor & Delivery Nurse Manager at Denver Health Medical Center, and I will soon celebrate our 22nd wedding anniversary. We are both active in our church, South Suburban Christian Church, where I am an Elder. Our older son Matt will be transferring to Colorado University in the fall of 2012.

I enjoy golf (when my back is good), biking, travel and coaching/cheering my younger son John (18), who is the All-Conference Center Fielder for Arapahoe High School.

I have over 25 years of experience in the automotive repair field, including 15 years as an owner/manager of a repair facility in Steamboat Springs Colorado. Three time Super Bowl participant, Ken Lanier, was nicknamed "The Rock On the Right Side" for a lot of reasons: he's the formidable guy you can count on. During his career, he started 178 consecutive games and was voted team captain for the 1989 Bronco Super Bowl Team. Ken retired in 1994 after fourteen years in the NFL, including one year with the Los Angeles Raiders.
That being said, this world-class athlete retired in 1994 to pursue two of his favorite things: helping people and selling automobiles. Put the two together and you've got a wonderful opportunity to have "The Rock on the Right Side" Ken Lanier, find just the right auto for you!.
